Lyrics

THAT LADY CAN DANCE
Watching her eyes and she saw the surprise
Coming down on my head like a hammer
Music was loud and her face in the crowd
Came from out of the smoke and the glamour
She was moving in an easy flow
And the crowd disappeared as I watched her go
And I know – Oh that lady can dance

She kind of smiled and we talked for a while
And I thought I received the right answer
She got amused and she left me confused
When she said I was never a dancer
I was hoping she was thinking it over
When the moon shot a dirty look over my shoulder
I know – Oh that lady can dance

She looked at me, and I thought I could see
She had a need for the night
We danced in my mind, but I guess I was blind
What made me think that she might

Walking around I was stunned with the sound
Of the music the booze and the laughter
I gave it a try and I’m still wondering why
Cause the night turned into a disaster
I was hoping she was thinking it over
When the moon shot a dirty look over my shoulder
I know – Oh that lady can dance
