    I Got to Know

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

I helped you with your problems, you ought to help me with mine

Oh, I got to know, I got to know, just gimme’ some kind of sign

You wanna’ be a lady scholar, you ought to know what to say

Oh, I got to know, I got to know, we can’t go on this way

Any major fool down on 42nd street will tell you that’s no way to beat the heat

    You’re a little younger maybe I’m a little old

I never said it but I need to be told…

    (Chorus)

I got to know, I got to know, I got to know

I got to know, I got to know, I got to know

I got to know, I got to know, I got to know

You communicate with silence, you expect me to understand

Oh, I got to know, I got to know, you can make me a happy man

Whille I’m waitin’ for your answer, I’m sleeping in my shoes

Oh, I got to know, I got to know, ‘cause I wanna’ go spread the news

Any major fool down on 42nd street will tell you that’s no way to beat the heat

    You’re a little younger maybe I’m a little old

I never said it but I need to be told…

    (Repeat Chorus)

So if you think you need me, just gimme a little call

Oh, I got to know, I got to know what’s on your mind, what’s on it

But I’m tired of all this waiting, you sweet talk me to death

Oh, I got to know, I got to know

So I better not hold my breath

    (Chorus Outro)

    Drop a Little Rock

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

Rock hit the water, makes a plunky sound

Makin’ plenty ripples travel round and round

Ripple join a big wave and roll a thousand miles

Float a note to China with a couple of smiles

    (Chorus)

Cant ya’ drop a little rock in the water

Drop a little rock in the water

Drop a little rock, help me make a wave

Rock hit the water and soon it’s gone

Makin’ plenty ripples travel on and on

Ripple join a big wave, you know it’s grown

Watch a lot of hope grow from a little stone

    (Repeat Chorus)

Drop a word of kindness and soon it’s gone

Makin’ plenty ripples circle on and on

Watch a lot of hope grow from ripple to wave

Travel on and come back from the word you gave.

    (Chorus – Outro)

    Lash Larue

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

I’m thinking about a long time ago

I got my big thrill just watching the show

Saturday morning me and big Lou

Would catch the matinee and watch Lash LaRue

Uh whoop up on them bad folks like you

But old Lash he faded just like on the screen

The best damn cowboy my money had ever seen

He never kissed ladies or played them guitars

But when he cracked his whip he sent my head to the stars

And whooped up on them bad folks like you

    (Chorus)

Lash LaRue he gonna’ pop all them fools in time

Lash LaRue he gonna’ pop all them fools in time

I made me a whip, a cape and a hat

The Yankees were winning but I didn’t have a bat

The faucets were leaking, the streets were blood red

But Lash LaRue was in my room and tucked me in bed

And whooped up on all them bad folks like you

    (Repeat Chorus – Synth Solo))

Well, twenty years later things ain’t so kind

Wherever he go, just two steps behind

Some of us remember that some of us cried

When Lash LaRue would lash some ass and take him some hide

And whoop up on them bad folks like you

And Lash LaRue, like you, Lash LaRue, like you, Lash LaRue, like you

    The Slower You Go

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

    Feeling lazy and clean

And I got that soapy sheen

    I’m a picture

    Of perfect health dynomite

And I feel tonight’s the night

    For the late show

    (Chorus)

The slower you go, the longer it lasts

The slower you go, baby, the longer it lasts

    Moonlit night, cheek to cheek

Take it slow between the sheets

    Nice and easy

    Come on in water’s fine

You can take a sip of mine

    Feeling sleazy

    (Repeat Chorus)

    (Synth Solo)

Slow the wind to a breeze

Bless my soul I squeeze to please

    Lovely lady

Like a fire turned to ash

    Ain’t a fifty yard dash

    Slow persuade me

    (Repeat Chorus - Outro)

    Moonlight Feels Right

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

The wind blew some luck in my direction
I caught it in my hands today
I finally made a tricky French connection
You winked and gave me your OK
I'll take you on a trip beside the ocean
And drop the top at Chesapeake Bay
Ain't nothing like the sky to dose a potion
The moon'll send you on your way

    (Chorus)
    Moonlight feels right
    Moonlight feels right

We'll lay back and observe the constellations
And watch the moon smiling bright
I'll play the radio on southern stations
'Cause southern belles are hell at night
You say you came to Baltimore from Ole Miss
A class of '74 gold ring
The eastern moon looks ready for a wet kiss
To make the tide rise again

    (Repeat Chorus)

We'll see the sun come up on Sunday morning
And watch it fade the moon away
I guess you know I'm giving you a warning
'Cause me and moon are itching to play
I'll take you on a trip beside the ocean
And drop the top at Chesapeake Bay
Ain't nothing like the sky to dose a potion
The moon'll send you on your way

    (Repeat Chorus – Outro)

    I'm Crazy

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

Cowboy boots just make me crazy

I wear high heel shoes that shine

I like what I like, you know what I like, baby

Your mama ain’t no friend of mine

    (Chorus)

    I’m crazy, right on

    I’m crazy, right on

Like to dance to funky music

    Bumpin’ booty feels so fine

I like what I like, you know what I like, baby

We’ll mix some whiskey with the wine

    (Repeat Chorus)

Weird red lights just make me happy

Shining up from off the floor

I like what I like, you know what I like, baby

Those bodies shaking from door to door

    (Repeat Chorus)

    Like my philosophy

Wanna’ go climb up a Yucca tree

    Look down watch you grind

I don’t stop when I hit the rind

    (Chorus – Outro)

    I’m crazy, right on

    So the Night Goes

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

On a cucumber evening in a sleepy southern town

All the streetlights are shining at the crickets on the ground

So the night goes, so the night goes

Ain’t a sound in the town ‘cept the echo in the well

And the butterflies sleeping up inside the village bell

So the night goes, so the night goes

My lady makes me feel good

My lady makes the night go better

I’m a champ in the street and I thought I had you beat

Till you asked me to sit and you took the only seat

So the night goes, so the night goes

I remember the night when I messed up all my lines

And you wrote a hundred tickets and I paid a hundred fines

So the night goes, so the night goes

My lady makes me feel good

My lady makes the night go better

So I’m standing here stupid kind of occupying space

And I guess it’s a mess when you come in second place

So the night goes, so the night goes

The streetlights a shining kind of showed me I was blind

So I’m standing here straining trying to hate you from my mind

So the night goes, so the night goes

So the night goes, so the night goes

So the night goes, so the night goes

Working My Heart to the Bone

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

Please, can’t you see what you do to me

Your curves get my nerves, gonna’ be the death of me

‘Cause you’re working my heart right down to the bone

Like you’re picking on a chicken, no worries of your own

Gotta’ call you up on the telephone

Working my heart to the bone

Worms ain’t concerned with what you do to me

You cook by the book and you put a spell on me

‘Cause you’re working my heart right down to the bone

Like you’re picking on a chicken, no worries of your own

Gotta’ call you up on the telephone

Working my heart to the bone

You’ve got the moves to work on me

So why don’t try and sample me

‘Cause you’re working my heart right down to the bone

Like you’re picking on a chicken, no worries of your own

Gotta’ call you up on the telephone

Working my heart to the bone

Working my heart right down to the bone

Like you’re picking on a chicken no worries of your own

Gotta' call you up on the telehone

    Lucky Man

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

Rock and roll just keeps me crazy

    Southern living makes me lazy

    Tired of playing Casanova

When I’m just a Shady Grover

    (Chorus)

Ooh, I’m a lucky man, Ooh, I’m a lucky man

It’s me and you and you and me

And we’re happy as a monkey in a coconut tree

    Riviera sunny seaside

Foreign ladies got my weak side

Tired of drinking crazy French wine

Coming home now if you’re still mine

    (Repeat Chorus)

    Mississippi watermelon

Cantaloupes, I love to smell ‘em

    Thinking clearly ain’t my tradmark

I don’t bite quite loud as I bark

    (Repeat Chorus – Outro)
